New Jersey Workshop and Career Fair to Help Engineers Become Educators

Interested in finding out whether a career change from engineer to K-12 science and technology teacher is for you? If so, you will want to check out a workshop and career fair that is being offered by ASME's Greater Trenton Section this month.

The workshop and career fair will take place on March 13 from 6–8 p.m. at the Gateway Regional High School, Woodbury Heights, N.J. The Technology Educators Association of New Jersey is presenting the event in cooperation with the ASME Greater Trenton Section, the College of New Jersey, and other engineering societies.

This workshop will provide an overview of contemporary technology education curriculum and explain pathways to teaching technology at middle and high schools. Prospective technology education employers will be on hand to highlight open positions and answer questions. Current technology education teachers will also be available to answer questions and serve as informal mentors to those who want more information.

Registration is required in advance and costs $10 per person. Participants can register at www.tcnj.edu/~teched or at www.teanj.org. For more information, please call Andrew Blelloch, vice chair of the Greater Trenton Section, at (609) 799-1475, or contact him by e-mail at blellochr1@asme.org.
