SARS Concerns Lead to Relocation of ASME's Asia Pacific Rim Meeting (5/20/03)

New dates for ASME's Asia Pacific Rim Subregional Operating Board Meeting have been tentatively set for Sept. 26-27 in Sydney, Australia.

The meeting had been postponed from its original date and location — April 25-26 in Hong Kong — due to concern about SARS, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.

The decision to change the location was made by ASME's subregional chair who is based in Hong Kong. The change was made as a precautionary measure, not in response to calls from members saying they would not be able to attend the meeting.
