Engineers Without Borders Becomes ASME's EWeek Legacy Project (1/27/05)

Last year, ASME began serving as a conduit for engineers to solve problems throughout the world when the Society partnered with Engineers Without Borders. One of the first EWB projects involving ASME was completed earlier this month.

This year, as the lead society for EWeek 2005, that partnership will also serve as ASME's legacy project.

The development of the legacy project and EWeek events are coinciding with this year's celebration of ASME's 125th anniversary. Events to commemorate the anniversary will be going on throughout the year, many at the grassroots level.

A panel of industry executives talking about technology needs will be one of the events at this year's Turbo Expo. The kind of insider insight that will be offered during this session has become one of the hallmarks of Turbo Expo, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary at this year's event June 6-9 in Reno, Nev.

GE Energy, GE Transportation, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and Siemens Westinghouse Power Corp. will be represented on the keynote panel. That session, "Gas Turbine Technologies: Focus for the Future" is scheduled for Monday, June 6.
