2005 Joint Rail Conference to Focus on Advancements in Rail Industry
Technology (1/13/05)
ASME, in partnership with the Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, will present the 2005 ASME/IEEE
Joint Rail Conference (JRC), March 16-18, at the Marriott Conference
Center in Pueblo, Colo.
The annual conference provides a forum for technical information exchange
among professionals in the business of passenger and freight rail transportation.
Attendees will include equipment manufacturers, rail maintenance and
operations personnel and government representatives.
The theme of the 2-day technical conference is "Research and Testing
for Industry Advancement." The forum will feature technical papers
centered on advances in design, analysis and testing of equipment serving
the rail industries.
The JRC will present two technical tracks focused on mechanical and
electrical issues. Session topics include: vehicle and track performance;
testing and analysis to enhance human safety; wheel design and modeling;
railroad signaling; AC/DC traction control, monitoring and tracking
train performance, and locomotive and freight car performance and others.
The conference will also offer a technical tour of the Transportation
Technology Center, Inc. Located in Pueblo, the TTCI is a world-class
intermodal research and test center owned by the Federal Railroad Association
and operated by the Association of American Railroads.
If you are a supplier to the rail industry, ASME is offering opportunities
for your company to raise its profile in the railroad community by becoming
an exhibit sponsor. For exhibit and sponsorship opportunities contact

For over 40 years, the JRC has been providing a unique and comprehensive
forum for the rail industry to share operating experiences and learn
about new and innovative activities in railway mechanical and electrical
engineering.
The 2005 ASME/IEEE Joint Rail Conference combines the technical resources
of the ASME Rail Transportation Division and the Land Transportation
Division of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society. The IEEE, a professional
association of more than 360,000 members, is a leading authority in
technical areas including electrical engineering, computers, telecommunications
and control technology.
