
Programs, Activities That Promote Diversity Can Be Contenders for 2005
ASME/J&J Medal (1/12/05)
Nominations are being accepted for the
ASME Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, Inc. Medal. This award
recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual, company,
government entity, school, or other organization toward developing and
implementing practices, processes and programs that value and strategically
manage diversity and inclusiveness.
The criteria to be used in the review of nominations and in the selection
of the award recipient are: alignment to the core values of ASME; the
effectiveness of practices, processes and programs toward increasing
the number of women and minorities within the multi-disciplines of mechanical
engineering and, the impact of programs that are designed to include
diverse participants and that create positive work and achievement environments
for all participants.
Individual nominees must be a member of ASME or a recognized engineering/professional
society. Institutional or organizational programs must have an operating
track record of three years or longer, with more than 25 active participants;
and, must not have been involved in litigation related to discrimination
or harassment within the past three years.
To be considered, nominations must be received by the secretary of the
special award committee by Feb. 1. Nominations can be emailed to Keith
