E-Library offers members three free engineering publications

The ASME E-Library is a new members-only benefit that enables visitors to access online collections of engineering reference books and help research questions and find practical solutions to daily on-the-job problems. Three of the publications are available to ASME members free of charge.

More than 3,000 members have already signed up for the service, which debuted in July.

The engineering titles in the E-Library that are available free to ASME members are: "Marks' Standard Handbook for Mechanical Engineers (10th Edition)," "The Handbook of Materials Selection," and "The Mechanical Engineer's Reference Book (12th Edition)."

Members also have the opportunity to upgrade to a paid E-Library subscription. ASME E-Library Plus, which includes access to 18 engineering titles, is available for $79 per year. A one-year subscription to the ASME E-Library Premium, which includes access to 32 books, costs $149.

The ASME E-Library is powered by Knovel, which features interactive and user-friendly-technology giving users the ability to manipulate and search for content across the entire collection quickly and easily.
