The 2003–2004 recipient of ASME's Dedicated Service Award is Elizabeth Prochaska. Libby has been chair of the Rothermel Scholarship Committee for many years. The Rothermel Scholarships go to students working on masters' degrees in mechanical engineering.

Letta Fowler has been added to the Lucy and Charles W.E. Clarke Scholarship Committee bringing the number of Auxiliary members up to three.

Ruth Thayer is moving to the new FIRST Scholarship Committee from the Rothermel Scholarship Committee.

The following 10 people received an undergraduate scholarship of $2,000 each from the ASME Auxiliary for the 2004–2005 academic year: Ryan Beaumont, University of Maine; Andrew Bugger, University of Akron; Michael Bullock, Oklahoma State University; Ashley Erickson, University of Alabama; Joseph Farco, Stevens Institute of Technology; Jason Fouraker, University of Missouri-Rolla; Jamie Fransen, University of Kansas; William Fung, Virginia Tech; Nicholas Taylor, Utah State University; and Terry Troy, Washington State University Tri-Cities.
