The Auxiliary was fortunate this year to have $20,000 to award in scholarships to mechanical engineering students.

Donations received in May provided for six $2,000 scholarships, with four of those in memory of Debbie Mercer, a former president of the Auxiliary.

The allocation of funds for these scholarships this academic year is as follows:

One Farny (undergraduate) Scholarship in memory of Hattie Friend. The Auxiliary received $50,000 from her estate in 1993.

One Rothermel (master's) Scholarship in memory of Virginia Clough. The Auxiliary received $22,500 from her estate in 1993.

Four Farny (undergraduate) scholarships in memory of Debbie Mercer from the General Education Fund.

Transfer $2,000 from the Student Loan Fund to the Rothermel Scholarship. Pay two Farny Scholarships from the General Education Fund.

The Los Angeles Section of the ASME Auxiliary donated over $2,000 to be given this year as a Parsons (doctoral) Scholarship.

Due to the generosity of our Auxiliary members, we were able to award 10 scholarships of $2,000 apiece this year.
