Mary Lynn Gerber has been treasurer of the ASME Auxiliary for many years. She has seen the changes that have occurred in accounting using software programs and spreadsheets, as opposed to using a ledger. She has seen the differences in the yield earned on our money when we switched from using savings accounts to incorporating our funds with those of ASME and getting the same sort of investment returns.

Her job is very complicated, but with the help of a Quicken Software program and the guidance of Kenneth Hunt of ASME, she has performed admirably in her job as the treasurer.

For her wonderful effort and work in all areas, she has been chosen by the Auxiliary to receive the Dedicated Service Award for 2000-2001. Her award will be presented at the meeting in November.

The Auxiliary gave six undergraduate scholarships for the 2001-2002 academic year. They went to: Jennifer Bauer of the University of Wisconsin, Stephani Ferrufino and David Neal III of Virginia Tech, Jason Ward of Penn State,Crystal Watson of the University of Portland and Jaron Vande Hoef of Dordt College.
