IGTI Gas Turbine Users Symposium to be
held during 2007 Power-Gen
The ASME International Gas Turbine Institute
will hold the 2007 Gas Turbine Users Symposium (GTUS) from Dec. 1113,
in New Orleans. The symposium will be held during the Power-Gen International
Conference at the Ernest N. Memorial Convention Center. The conference
is expected to draw more than 17,000 professionals from power generation-related
industries.

The symposium provides a forum for end users to exchange ideas and
share best practices regarding the operation and maintenance of industrial
gas turbines and aero-engines.
Comprising both panel discussions and roundtables, GTUS delivers practical
information and provides an opportunity for engineers and other technical
professionals to learn about solutions to problems shared in the global
gas turbine industry. Subjects to be covered in the symposium will include
engine management, maintenance and repair, and equipment and products.
Several IGTI committees including Oil and Gas Applications, Manufacturing
Materials and Metallurgy, Industrial and Cogeneration, Marine, and Electric
Power have partnered with the GTUS Steering Committee to develop
sessions for this year's program, according to Patrick Campbell, chair
of the symposium.
The list of session topics currently includes aeroderivatives and light
industrial engines, new alternate source parts, the aging fleet experience,
field testing and condition-based monitoring, advanced welding technology,
gas turbine airfoil repair strategies for reduced lifecycle costs, inlet
cooling, and fuel, air and water considerations for gas turbines.
A roundtable discussion for all attendees, on the topic "Emerging
Solutions and Applications," is scheduled to conclude the symposium's
activities.
GTUS registrants will receive access to all sessions in the three-day
symposium, as well as admission to Power-Gen and a complimentary copy
of the conference proceedings on compact disk.
