The Congress will be held Nov. 1115 at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel.
The Exposition will be located next door at the Washington State Convention
and Trade Center, on the sixth floor. Show hours will be 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. from Nov. 1214.
ASME deepens involvement in
China
ASME President Sam Y. Zamrik and Executive Director Virgil R. Carter
were among a delegation of ASME representatives who traveled to Beijing
last month to celebrate the completion and release of Chinese translations
of ASME Nuclear Codes and Standards and to sign three memorandums of
understanding (MOUs) to further the Society's cooperative relationships
and work efforts in China.
ASME contingent to visit Argentina
this month
A cross-departmental team of Society staff members will head south to
Argentina later this month.
Online salary survey begins
Oct. 1
The survey will encompass all compensation, including bonuses and benefits.
This survey is administered by Enetrix, in Madison, Wis., and is produced
in partnership with ASME, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and
the National Society of Professional Engineers.

The ASME Foundation
The Foundation Grants Program promotes the future of engineering. Over
the years, the Foundation has funded programs that nurture and encourage
both students and early career engineers.
ASME Petroleum Institute recognizes
industry achievements
ASME's International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI) recognized
outstanding contributions in support of the art, science and practice
of mechanical engineering, innovation and professional excellence during
its annual dinner, which was held last month in Houston.
ASME completes RAMCAP guidelines
for two new sectors
The ASME Innovative Technologies Institute LLC (ASME-ITI) recently completed
two new sector-specific guidance (SSG) documents under a contract with
the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
