Volunteers needed for ASME wind turbine code committee

ASME Codes and Standards is now inviting professionals from the United States and abroad who are interested in wind turbine technology standardization to apply for membership on a new ASME Performance Test Code Committee on Wind Turbines.

The new committee would be charged with revising the existing American National Standard ASME PTC 42-1988, "Wind Turbines." PTC 42 was written from the perspective of practicing field engineers, and specifies methods and instrumentation for the testing and reporting of wind-turbine performance.

Interested individuals should have experience in the testing of wind turbines and, preferably, an engineering degree. For more information, contact George Osolsobe, PTC 42 secretary; e-mail osolsobeg@asme.org.
