Honors Assembly at Congress

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, during the International Mechanical Engineering Congress, an event will take place that you won't want to miss — the Honors Assembly, an impressive and dramatic audiovisual experience.

This year, the following awards and medals will be presented: Honorary Membership to Ray M. Bowen, Frank Kreith, J. Tinsley Oden, and Donald N. Zwiep; the ASME Medal to Bradford W. Parkinson; the Henry Laurence Gantt Medal to Julie Spicer England; the Melvin R. Green Medal to Edward A. Donoghue; the M. Eugene Merchant Manufacturing Medal of ASME/SME to David A. Stephenson; the Dixy Lee Ray Medal to Pedro A. Gelabert; and the Ralph Coats Roe Medal to William A. Wulf.

The assembly will be followed by a reception, during which you will have the opportunity to socialize with the award recipients and other attendees. This part of the evening provides members with the opportunity to talk to those colleagues — old friends and new — you have missed during the hectic first days of the meeting.

On behalf of ASME, I hope you will join us for this special evening.

— Ward O. Winer, chair
ASME Committee on Honors
