Careers and ethics are key parts of upcoming Young Engineers Forum

The speakers at the 23rd Young Engineers Forum next month at the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition will address topics related to career advancement strategies, ethics and leadership skills.

The daylong forum will take place Nov. 16 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. A reception is scheduled to be held following the program, from 5 to 6 p.m.

Patrick J. Kuhse, a consultant on business ethics, will begin the forum by talking about "The Business of Ethics: Why So Many Smart People Do Such Dumb Things." He will be followed by Ronald Saporita, P.E., who is vice president of Wilson Management Associates Inc. He will address the basics of leadership in project management.

After the lunch break, career specialist Peter J. Goodman will explain "Win-Win Career Negotiations: Proven Strategies for Getting What You Want From Your Employer."

The Young Engineers Forum is a special event that is open to everyone. However, those attending the 2003 Congress will need to register for it separately.

Advance registration is $25, while onsite registration is $30. The deadline for advance registration is Nov. 7.
