Nominations for ASME officers due
The Nominating Committee must recommend 16 top
members of ASME for leadership positions this year. Twelve of those
new leaders will be vice presidents. Those to be nominated are: president,
2005-2006; three members of the Board of Governors, 2005-2008, and 12
vice presidents.
The vice presidents for 2005-2008 will be responsible for the following:
Regions II, IV, VI and VIII; Diversity and Outreach; Energy Resources;
Manufacturing; Materials and Structures; Nuclear Codes and Standards;
Pressure Technology Codes and Standards; Professional Development, and
Systems and Design.
The Nominating Committee asks that every member of ASME International
help identify at least two candidates for each leadership position.
Each candidate should inform the NC of his or her intention to run for
office by March 15, 2004, and submit his or her final nomination package
by April 15 (this date may change to April 1). The NC will meet at the
Summer Annual Meeting in June to evaluate the candidates and recommend
nominees.
The 2003 nomination package is available on ASME's Web site at www.asme.org/nomcomm
and can be used as a guide for developing the 2004 package. The 2004
nomination package will be available in January 2004.
