Transaction Journals

Content Alerts for ASME Transaction Journals
were e-mailed to all ASME members for the first time in late July to
let them know about the material contained in upcoming ASME journals.
Those e-mails ignited new interest in the publications.
After the e-mail, each of the 18 journals had dozens of new people signing
up to receive future alerts about the contents of various journals.
Six of the journals had more than 200 new subscribers to the Content
Alerts, which the Publications Department hopes will ultimately result
in new journal subscribers.
Content Alerts will be e-mailed to subscribers at about the time the
new journals are released online. Repeats of the Content Alert e-mail
to all nonsubscribers will be scheduled.
The five publications that had the greatest number of new subscribers
to Content Alerts are: the Journal of Applied Mechanics, with 303 new
alert subscribers; Journal of Heat Transfer, 218 new alert subscribers;
Journal of Mechanical Design, with 209; Journal of Fluids Engineering,
with 207, and Journal of Biomechanical Engineering, with 200.
Applied Mechanics Reviews, which is not a Transaction Journal, counted
254 new Content Alert subscribers.
