At its annual business meeting this summer, the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) presented Stanley C. Harris, P.E., with the Distinguished Service Award for his 20 years of dedicated service to the engineering profession. Harris, an ASME Fellow, was appointed to the Virginia Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects in 1990 and since then has held various leadership and service positions through the board, NCEES, and other professional organizations. Harris has served as officer and director for more than 20 years in the Richmond (Va.) Area Program for Minorities in Engineering. He has been an ASME member since 1968.
