Congress highlights

James M. Bernhard, Jr., the founder and CEO of The Shaw Group Inc., will deliver the keynote address for the 2002 International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition on Monday, Nov. 18.

Bernhard has served as president, CEO and director of the Louisiana-based company since its inception in 1987. He has been the chairman since 1990.

During the keynote, he will address "Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone — Secrets to Success."

After the keynote address, ASME's R&D Expo will officially open. The exhibit floor hours will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18; from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19; and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20.
