New benefit offers ElderCare Options

Eldercare Options is a new member benefit program that gives ASME members access to many of the services and savings available through long-term care insurance, but without the age and health requirements or the high cost of long-term care insurance.

Members with Eldercare Options will have access to a wide range of services to help them live independently at home as long as possible.

Those services include: unlimited 24-hour support and advice by an eldercare professional; annual wellness assessment that evaluates current wellness state and provides recommendations for aging in good health; savings on in-home care if a home health aide is needed to assist a member in their home; savings on long-term care if moving to a nursing home or assisted living facility is required, and savings on care management services by a registered nurse or social worker.

Access to the Elder care Web site, www.nursenavigator.com, also provides eldercare planning tools, communication with a care manager and a health information library, and gives family members the ability to monitor services provided by care managers.

Eldercare Options Plus also gives members valuable discounts on everyday, out-of-pocket items, such as chiropractic services, eyeglasses, vision exams, dental check-ups and vitamins. Prices range from $199 to $299 annually.

These benefits can also be purchased for a member's parents and parents-in-law. To find out more, call (800) 289-2763 and ask for a long-term care specialist.
