Early registration available for micro- and nanosystems conference in China

If you would like to get up to speed on the latest in micro- and nanosystems, devices, and mechanics, the International Conference on Integration and Commercialization of Micro- and Nanosystems in China is the place to be in January. And if you register by Nov. 24, you can save up to $200.

The International Conference on Integration and Commercialization of Micro- and Nanosystems will take place from Jan. 10–13 at the International Asia Pacific Convention Center and HNA Resort Sanya in Hainan, China.

The meeting is co-organized by the ASME Nanotechnology Institute, the Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology Institution of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES), and the Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization and Education Foundation (MANCEF).

The focus of this international forum will be on state-of-the-art research and development in micro- and nanoscale phenomena, devices, systems, and manufacturing as well as the commercialization of micro- and nanotechnologies. These topics will be explored during the conference's many plenary and invited speeches, oral and poster presentations, and exhibitions — all of which will provide ample opportunities for communication and collaboration between meeting participants from industry and academia.

The program will also include keynote presentations from a number of experts in the international micro- and nanotechnology market. Speakers will include Yia-Chung Chang, director of the Applied Research Center in Taiwan; Clive Davenport, chief executive officer of Small Tech Clusters in Australia; Chih-Ming Ho, the Ben Rich-Lockheed Martin Chair Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles; Sangtae Kim, the Donald W. Feddersen Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University; and Frank Träger, editor-in-chief, the Journal of Applied Physics B, and director of the Center for Interdisciplinary Nanostructure Science and Technology at the University of Kassel, Germany.

Other keynoters will include Steven Walsh, founding president of MANCEF and the Albert Franklin Black Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of New Mexico; Liding Wang, chair of Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology Institution at China's Dalian University of Technology; and Sishen Xie, chief scientist, the Chinese Academy of Science.

Companies still have time to sign up to be an exhibitor at the conference. Costs are $1,500 for a small booth and $2,000 for a standard-size booth. For more exhibitor information, visit www.asmeconferences.org/MicroNanoChina07/
