ASME signs global training agreements
with two international firms
ASME has entered into business partnerships
with two international companies Alliance Safety Management Services
Sdn Bhd in Malaysia and Abar Solutions Petroleum Consultancy Ltd. in
Kuwait concerning the Society's Global Management for Engineering
and Technology (GMET) training program for engineers.
Under terms of the legal agreements, Alliance Safety Management and
Abar Solutions will administer the GMET courses to trainees, using the
delivery format, method of instruction, and course materials developed
by ASME.
GMET provides instruction and training on global corporate strategic
planning and project management, cross-cultural team building, and other
subjects designed to expand the knowledge and skill sets of engineers
beyond the purely technical and into areas relating to international
business management and operations.
Consisting of four courses, GMET is delivered through a blended learning
format combining online course material, quizzes, case studies, and
a discussion forum, coupled with a two-day online training program.
Participants completing the course or program receive a certificate
of completion.
According to the agreements, ASME will assist with schedules and also
offer to select and dispatch instructors, teaching assistants, and interpreters
for training sessions.
These agreements bring to six the total number of international education
centers that are teaming with ASME on the GMET program. Earlier this
year, the Society signed agreements with Beijing Jiaotong University,
Shanghai Jiaotong University, South China University of Technology,
and Beijing Modern Management Technology Education Center.
