The ASME Auxiliary awarded three Rice-Cullimore Scholarships, which are given to students from outside the United States doing graduate work at U.S. universities, for the 2006-07 school year.

The scholarships, in the amount of $2,000 apiece, were given to the following students pursuing their doctorates: Juliana Abrantes and Marcello Ferrari of Brazil, and Vallyppan Natarajan of Malaysia.

There were also 10 FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Clarke Scholarships awarded this year.

The scholarships, which are co-funded by the ASME Auxiliary and the ASME Foundation, are for $5,000 each and are given to entering college freshman. The recipients of these scholarships are: Christopher Dominti, William Scott Goehringer, Roy J. Gross III, Grant G. Hanson, Matthew Richard Jones, Chase J. Kramer, Nathaniel A.
