"Engineering Disasters" out this month

Recent disasters, such as the World Trade Center collapse and the Columbia Space Shuttle crash, are among the well-known disasters and failures documented in a new book from ASME Press out this month.

"Engineering Disasters: Lessons to Be Learned" also reveals lessons to be learned from historic events, such as the Hindenburg Disaster and Chernobyl.

Author Don Lawson discusses the common threads and conclusions from accident investigations and offers excellent references for further study. The book is co-published by ASME and Professional Engineering Publishing, U.K.

"Engineering Disasters" (Order No. 802302) lists for $149; $119 for ASME members. To order, call (800) 843-2763 or (973) 882-1167.
