Studying fuel cell science? ASME wants you.

Researchers of fuel cell science are being sought for participation in the Second International Conference on Fuel Cell Science, Engineering and Technology, which is being organized by ASME.

The conference is scheduled for June 14-16 in Rochester, N.Y. The focus will be on the development of fuel cells from the lab to the marketplace.

The conference is intended to be a forum to discuss advances in the field of fuel cell system components for stationary, mobile and portable power generation applications.

Abstracts for papers are due Nov. 24. For details about meeting the deadline, visit www.asme.org/events/fuelcell.

ASME is also seeking attendees for the conference.

To get the most out of the meeting, ASME recommends that attendees acquire an understanding of the fundamentals of electrochemistry and thermodynamics of fuel cell operation before the meeting begins.

At the conference, attendees will learn about various fuels used and fuel processing issues for supplying hydrogen or hydrogen-rich fuel to fuel cells. They will be exposed to the current state-of-the-art fuel cell components and systems, including their types, functions and applications.

Attendees will also learn about various fuels used and fuel processing issues for supplying hydrogen or hydrogen-rich fuel to fuel cells.

Space for tabletop exhibits will be available. Companies interested in exhibiting should contact Raj Manchanda, director of ASME's Advanced Technology Program, at (212) 591-7789 or e-mail him at manchandar@asme.org.

Registration before April 30 will be $495; it is $545 after that date. The charge for students is $250, and $150 for spouses, who will be admitted to receptions and the banquet.
