Younger members taught leadership skills in LDI program; apply now

The Leadership Development Initiative (LDI) is seeking applications for six one-year internship positions.

The LDI program is open to any ASME member who received an undergraduate degree between five and 10 years ago, wants to learn more about ASME and wants to become more active in the Society.

Any motivated younger member who would like to jump start volunteer involvement with ASME can apply to serve with one of the five operating councils or with the Board of Governors. The deadline to apply is in December.

The LDI interns participate in meetings of their assigned units. LDIs will learn about ASME, but the Society also benefits from the increased involvement of younger members.

Graduates of the LDI program have gone forward as more senior volunteers with a greater knowledge and understanding of ASME.

Applying is easy, but must done by the Dec. 10 deadline. Applications can be handled online at www.asme.org/ldi, or by contacting Warren Leonard at (212) 591-7846 or via
e-mail at leoanrdw@asme.org.
