ASME to host world heat transfer conference in 2010

Washington, D.C., will be the venue of the 14th International Heat Transfer Conference in 2010, which will be hosted by ASME for the first time in 25 years.

The conference, which is overseen by the Assembly for International Heat Transfer Conferences, takes place once every four years. AIHTC represents 25 countries. In 2010, IHTC will once again be managed by ASME, in collaboration with the American Society of Chemical Engineers.

ASME's proposal to host the conference was accepted on the strength of its mission: to bring in new and emerging areas of heat transfer through discussions, lectures and panels; to introduce short courses in new fields; to increase industrial participation through exhibitions and open forums; to increase attendance and participation from all countries; to turn the conference into a global focal point for research that is being done or needs to be done; to make the proceedings part of the permanent literature, and to attract researchers from diverse areas in thermal processes and systems.
