ASME hosts World Tribology event

ASME and the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers will jointly sponsor the 2005 World Tribology Conference for the first time since it was created in 1997.

The 2005 conference will be the third time that the World Tribology Conference, which occurs every four years, has been scheduled. The 2005 event will be in the United States for the first time, in Washington, D.C.

ASME and STLE play a major role in the North American tribology community. Their joint proposal to sponsor the conference was accepted by the International Tribology Council, which represents many tribology associations worldwide.
