It is with terrible sadness that I write this column, having recently learned of the death of Terrey Hawthorne, the husband of Susan Hawthorne, a former president of the ASME Auxiliary and the current chairman of the Auxiliary newsletter, the "Pipeline." Susan always credited Terrey with being a tremendous help to her in publishing and mailing the Auxiliary newsletter.

Terrey Hawthorne died of a massive heart attack on March 16, while snorkeling off the Island of Espanola in the Galapagos Islands, where he and Susan were vacationing with a number of close friends. Robert and Janet Watson accompanied Susan and Terrey's body back to Pennsylvania.

The memorial service was held on March 24 at White Horse Village in Newtown Square, Pa. Memorials can be sent to Susan Hawthorne at White Horse Village, S#121, 535 Gradyville Rd., Newtown Square, PA 19073-2815. Susan can also be contacted via e-mail at saleneh@aol.com.
