Half-dozen leadership interns to begin their terms on ASME councils

The five councils of ASME and its Board of Governors will be served by a new group of Leadership Development Initiative interns who will start their 12-month terms in June at the Summer Annual Meeting.

Six new interns are selected each year from ASME members who are interested in learning more about the Society's operations in order to later accept responsibilities for serving in ASME's many leadership roles.

Applications for the 2004-2005 year are due Dec. 1. For more information, or to apply, visit www.asme.org/ldi.

David Blekham

 

 

The Council on Engineering will be supported by David Blekhman. He is an assistant professor at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Mich., whose areas of technical expertise include combustion, fuel cells, heat transfer, data acquisition and instrumentation.

The Council on Codes and Standards will be aided by Scott T. Chestnut, who is the West Coast general manager for Worldwide Welding in Carson, Calif.

Mark C. Lengsfeld

 

 

Mark C. Lengsfeld will serve on the Board of Governors. He is a project engineer at Crane Valves in Signal Hill, Calif.

The Council on Public Affairs will be supported by Bilal Y. Maiteh. He is a senior project engineer for Delphi Corp.'s Environment Lab in Troy, Mich.

Kevin M. Piatek

 

 

Kevin M. Piatek, a senior project engineer for Keyfilters, Inc. in Woon- socket, R.I., will work with the Council on Member Affairs.

David G. Trevino

 

 


David G. Trevino
will serve on the Council on Education. He works for Zenon Enterprises in Allen, Texas.
