Power Division to hold Combined Cycle Plant
Users Group Meeting
The Combined Cycles Committee of ASME's Power Division
is holding its first Combined Cycle Plant Users Group Meeting at the jointly
located International Joint Power Generation Conference and the International
Gas Turbine Institute's Turbo Expo Conference in New Orleans on June 6.
This day-long interactive meeting will cover many facets of combined cycle
plants.
The subjects covered include, but are not limited to: design aspects of the
new breed of merchant plants; construction techniques for new generation
in 2001 and beyond; availability of appropriately skilled construction forces;
procurement considerations in today's extremely competitive and busy buying
climate; startup and commissioning issues to meet June 2001, 2002 and 2003
commercial operation dates; finding experienced resources to make your liquidated
damage dates and turn over the plant; operational considerations to maximize
the return on investment while providing reliable power; staffing ideas to
keep your valued and best employees; training of new personnel to achieve
consistent quality in plant performance; maximizing efficiency and output
to respond to the day's demand requirements.
The session will have several short prepared discussions at the start of
each part. Following a brief introduction, a panel will discuss, debate and
argue the current and future state of combined cycle plants. Questions, comments
and opinions will be encouraged from the audience.
This session on June 6 will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admittance to the meeting
is available through IJPGC registration or registration for Turbo Expo.
