Virtual Campus includes courses from University of South Carolina

ASME's new Virtual Campus has added the University of South Carolina to its roster of participating schools.

The program, which makes graduate-level engineering and technical courses available online, already includes courses from the New Jersey Institute of Technology, Stevens Institute of Technology, and the United States Open University.

ASME members are eligible for a 10 percent discount on all courses. Other benefits include instant access to listed courses at any time or place, savings in commuting time and travel expenses, and the ability to network with global participants.

Among the new offerings from the University of South Carolina are courses in computer technology, marketing, international operations, internet security, developing the chief information officer into a strategic partner, legal issues (intellectual property), managing international growth, mergers and acquisitions, supply-chain management, global tele-communications (transmission media and network protocols), finance, contract law for engineers and an overview of design of experiments.

Although these courses do not carry academic credit — unlike some others available through the Virtual Campus — continuing education units are available.
