Deadlines for 13 ASME Awards Yet to Come This Year

The winners of a number of ASME awards will be determined in the coming months. Details of the various honors appear below. For more information and to download a nomination form, visit www.asme.org/Governance/Honors.

Sept. 1 is the nomination deadline for the Yeram S. Touloukian Award, which honors outstanding technical contributions in the field of thermophysical properties. The winner will receive a bronze medal and a certificate.

The ASME Ralph Coates Roe Medal recognizes significant contributions to the field of engineering materials. The winner will receive a $10,000 honorarium, a gold medal, a certificate, and a supplement to cover travel expenses to accept the award. Nominations are due Sept. 1.

Nominations are due Sept. 14 for the Y.C. Fung Young Investigator Award, which encourages young investigators to pursue research in bioengineering. Candidates for this award must be under the age of 36 and have a doctorate or equivalent degree. The winner will receive a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, and a certificate.

The Fluids Engineering Award recognizes outstanding contributions to the field of fluids engineering. The recipient will be given a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, and a certificate. The deadline for nominations is Sept. 30.

The Bergles-Rohsenow Young Investigator Award in Heat Transfer is given to an individual who pursues research in heat transfer and has demonstrated the potential to make significant contributions to this field. The award recipient will receive a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, and a certificate. Candidates must be younger than 36 and must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in engineering. Nominations must be received by Oct. 1.

The Daniel C. Drucker Medal honors outstanding contributions in applied mechanics and mechanical engineering. The winner receives a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, a certificate, and an expense supplement. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 1.

The Heat Transfer Memorial Award is bestowed for outstanding contributions to the field of heat transfer. The honoree receives a $1,000 honorarium, a plaque, and a certificate. Nominations are due Oct. 1.

An outstanding achievement or significant contribution in the field of personal transportation is honored with the Soichiro Honda Medal. The winner of this award will receive a $7,500 honorarium, a gold medal, a certificate, and an expense supplement. Nominations are due Oct. 1.

The Warner T. Koiter Medal recognizes distinguished contributions to the field of solid mechanics, with special emphasis on the effective blending of theoretical and applied elements to the discipline. A $2,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, a certificate, and an expense supplement are bestowed upon the medal winner. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 1.

The Timoshenko Medal is given to an individual for distinguished contributions to applied mechanics. The winner receives a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, a certificate, and an expense supplement. The deadline for nominations is Oct. 1.

Eminent achievement in ASME codes and standards for piping and pressure vessels is recognized with the J. Hall Taylor Medal. The honoree will receive a $1,000 honorarium, a bronze medal, and a certificate. The nomination deadline for this award is Nov. 15.

Dec. 1 is the deadline for nominating a candidate for the Frank Kreith Award, which honors significant contributions to a secure energy future. The winner receives a $1,000 honorarium, a plaque, a certificate, and an expense supplement.
