Survey says: Journals, codes and
magazine are tops with online visitors
The results from the recent ASME.ORG online survey are in and according
to the participants, Journals and Periodicals, Codes and Standards Products,
and Mechanical Engineering Magazine Online were cited as their three
most-valued sections of ASME's Web site
Former ASME President Nickell
among new NAE members
Last month, the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) released its list
of 64 new members and nine foreign associates. Among the new NAE members
were four ASME members, including Robert E. Nickell, a former ASME president
and current member of the Mechanical Engineering magazine Editorial
Advisory Board.
Deadline for ASME/FIRST scholarship
applications extended
ASME members who are planning to nominate a FIRST team member for an
ASME Foundation/FIRST Clarke Scholarship have a few extra days to do
so.
Wind farm tour energizes ASME
Idaho section
More than 200 people primarily ASME members and their families
took part in a wind farm tour last summer that was sponsored
by the ASME Idaho Section. That's an impressive turnout, particularly
when you consider that the section usually averages about 225 members.

Face of Engineering for 2007
New Faces of Engineering is an international recognition project intended
to promote the accomplishments and contributions of young engineers,
30 years of age or younger, while creating awareness of the resulting
impact that engineers have on our daily lives.

Stowell Thompson to benefit students
Mary Evans Stowell Thompson, one of the founding members of the Archimedes
Club, left the ASME Foundation one of the largest gifts it has received
to date in order to establish a scholarship fund in her husband's name
to benefit mechanical engineering students.
