The ASME Auxiliary is currently accepting scholarship applications for the 2007–2008 academic year. The application deadline is March 15, 2007.

Undergraduate students enrolled in a four year engineering program are eligible for scholarships of $2,000 for use in their senior year. Students enrolled in a five year engineering program are eligible for scholarships of $2,000 for use in their final year of undergraduate study. Scholarship applicants, excepting applicants for the Rice-Cullimore Scholarship for foreign students, must be citizens of the United States and must be enrolled at a United States university in a ABET accredited mechanical engineering program. Scholarship awards are based on the applicant’s academic performance, character, need and ASME participation.

The deadline is March 15, 2007.

Mechanical Engineering graduate students are encouraged to apply to the Auxiliary for scholarships of $2,000 for support while working on either a master’s degree or doctoral degree. The Rothermel Scholarship is awarded to a student working towards the master’s degree in mechanical engineering at a United States ABET accredited institution. Applications for the Rothermel Scholarship are due to Mrs. Prochaska by March 15, 2007.

The Parsons Scholarship of $2,000 is awarded annually by the Auxiliary to a student working towards the Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at a United States university in an ABET accredited program. Applications are due on March 15, 2007. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.

International graduate students are eligible and encouraged to apply for the Rice-Cullimore Scholarship of $2,000 granted to a non-US student studying for either a master’s or doctoral degree in mechanical engineering at a United States university under the Fulbright Program. Applications must be obtained from and filed with the local Institute of International Education (IIE) Office or from the Educational Office of the US Embassy in the student’s home country. Applicants need not be US citizens. IIE will send a copy of the student’s application to the Rice-Cullimore Scholarship Committee for consideration. For more information contact Robert A. The ASME Auxiliary awards loans up to $3,000 per year to mechanical engineering students for support in the junior and senior undergraduate years and for graduate study. Loans are interest free until the student graduates or is no longer enrolled in the program. Applicants must be United States citizens, be enrolled in ABET accredited mechanical engineering programs at US universities and hold some grade of membership in ASME. It is the policy of the ASME Auxiliary that no student shall be awarded more than one Auxiliary scholarship or loan in the same academic year.
