Recruit a member, win a computer
Got some friends or colleagues who aren't members of
ASME? Well, sign a few up and you'll earn a few chances to win a Gateway
flat-screen computer or a Palm Pilot portable computer, which is fast replacing
the cell phone as the personal aid of choice.
You won't win if you don't recruit at least one member. And the more members
you sign up, the better your chances of winning. The drawings are open to
ASME members who enroll new members only not renewal members.
Since ASME's new recruitment drive began in July, seven members have won
a Palm Pilot by recruiting at least one member.
But those members, and every member who recruits at least one new member,
will also be entered in a second drawing for a flat-screen Gateway computer,
worth $3,000.
The drawing for the Gateway will be held soon after the current membership
drive concludes on June 30. Check the Membership and Services site on
www.asme.org for more details.
At press time, Shahriar Setoodeh of the Virginia Section was the latest winner
of a Palm Pilot, which is valued at $500. His name was entered in the Palm
Pilot drawing twice because he recruited two new members. He was selected
by a computer as the winner of the January drawing. The winner of last month's
drawing is posted on the Membership and Benefits site on ASME.ORG.
Setoodeh joined six other ASME members whose names were chosen in similar
monthly drawings that started in July when the recruitment drive began. Each
received a Palm Pilot as the reward for recruiting a new member.
The first member to win in July was David Wetrosky of the Nebraska Section.
His name was entered four times because he recruited four new members.
John L. Wofford of the Kansas City Section was selected in the August drawing.
The winner in September was John R. Klemmer of the Buffalo Section. The October
winner was Dongqing Li of the Ontario Section. Darrin M. Chastain of the
Philadelphia Section won in the November drawing. In the December drawing,
Oscar A. Rothchild of the Skokie Valley Section was selected.
When a new member recruited by you joins ASME, your name, as the recruiter,
will be entered in every monthly drawing for a Palm Pilot, either until you
win or until the recruitment period ends in June. Your name will also go
into the pool for the Gateway drawing.
