Web seminar on fuel cells to be offered this month

If you're interested in learning more about fuel cells and their viability in today's energy marketplace, make sure to take part in the ASME Web seminar "Fuel Cells" on Wednesday, March 22, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time.

The Web course, developed for engineers, scientists, university faculty, graduate students, manufacturers, and consultants, will examine why fuel cells have come to receive the growing attention they have throughout the world as an emerging energy source — and how the topic recently has returned to the spotlight as a viable alternative energy supply for a variety of applications.

The fuel cells Web seminar will focus on recent developments and trends, and present an overview of various aspects of fuel cells. It will also provide a discussion of fuel cell applications that are likely to make an impact on the marketplace. The session will also discuss major market-entry issues and overcoming these barriers.

Pat Sonti, vice president and advisor of ERG LLC of Florham Park, N.J., will lead the Web seminar. For nearly 25 years, he has worked in multiple sectors, including energy, environmental, infrastructure, defense, trade, policy, and investment. He has hands-on knowledge of project management, project engineering, cost and scheduling, project finance, and corporate operations as well as policy advocacy, regulatory framework, and government relations.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask the instructor questions and get answers in real time. The instructor will be able to conduct polls and ask questions. Participants will receive course materials by e-mail prior to the seminar and will be able to view the instructor's PowerPoint slides during the seminar. All participants can also earn one professional development hour (PDH) per seminar.

Registration for the "Fuel Cells" Web seminar is $249 for ASME members and $299 for nonmembers. Early registration is suggested because some sites may need to have Webex software installed before they can participate in the seminars.
