Plate and shell structures examined

Design of Plate and Shell Structures," a new title from ASME Press, was written primarily for professional engineers interested in designing plate and shell structures.

The book, by Maan H. Jawad, covers basic aspects of theories, and gives examples for the design of components due to internal and external loads as well as other loads, such as wind and dead loads.

The examples given throughout this book are intended to show the engineer the level of analysis needed to achieve a safe design based on a given required degree of accuracy.

"Design of Plate and Shell Structures," order No. 801993, costs $77 for ASME members, $96 for nonmembers. To order, contact ASME Information Central at (800) 843-2763 or (973) 882-1167, or visit www.asme.org/pubs/asmepress.
