Programs for co-located Turbo Expo 2003
and IJPGC begin to take shape
ASME's two major power conferences, ASME
Turbo Expo 2003 Power for Land, Sea and Air and the International
Joint Power Generation Conference, will be held concurrently from June
16-19 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
Together, the conferences typically draw nearly 5,000 participants from
60 countries. Turbo Expo is sponsored by ASME's International
Gas Turbine Institute. IJPGC is sponsored by ASME's Power Division.
Turbo Expo will offer
a Gas Turbine Users Symposium featuring panels, tutorials and discussions,
which will function as forums for users to share practical solutions
on maintenance and operations issues. In addition, the Technical Congress
will feature more than 600 refereed papers addressing developmental
and design technology.
IJPGC, which is considered the most technically acclaimed event in the
power industry, will provide a technical forum for professionals at
utility companies and other power generation facilities.
Unified registration will allow registrants to attend the keynote session,
three-day exposition (June 16-18) and all sessions of both conferences.
The keynote session for both events will feature three high-level executives
who represent the product development and end-user sides of the power
business.
The speakers are Paul Bowers, president of Southern Company Generation
and Energy Marketing; Mark Little, vice president of GE Power Systems
Energy Products, and Udo Rieder, vice president of engineering and planning
at Delta Airlines. Bowers, Little and Rieder will address the theme,
"Global Power and Propulsion Solutions."
