Member Initiatives go electronic

Members can submit suggestions for administrative and program improvements, as well as viewing current and past initiatives, by visiting ASME.ORG.

In order to access the system, members will have to enter their member number.

Members can either go to shortcuts and click on Member Initiatives; or go to "Members Only" and enter their number and click on Member Initiative System under ASME Member Features (on the right of the screen); or go to the Local Leadership Toolbox and find it under "General Information"; or find it under the BMID home page, or lastly use the url: www.asme.org/cma/bmid/mis.cfm.

Once members send in a suggestion, they will receive confirmation of receipt via e-mail.

Staff will then review the suggested changes and forward them to the appropriate ASME unit. The person sending the suggestion will also be advised of the status via e-mail. That status will also be listed on the Web under "current initiatives."

The Council on Member Affairs decided at the 2002 Summer Annual Meeting to move the Member Initiative System to an electronic system.
