New cogeneration handbook covers power plant design and operation

A new reference book, the "Handbook for Cogeneration and Combined Cycle Power Plants," is now available from ASME Press.

Written by ASME Fellow Meherwan P. Boyce, P.E., the handbook covers all major aspects of power plant design, operation and maintenance. Accompanying the text are several illustrations, charts and tables to supplement the references and information.

Also included in the book are special features, such as comparisons of various energy systems; the latest cycles and power augmentation techniques; reviews and benefits of the latest codes; analysis of available equipment (as well as descriptions of major equipment in CCPP); techniques for improving plant reliability and maintainability; testing and plant evaluation techniques, and advantages and disadvantages of fuels.

The author has written several books and also has authored more than 100 technical papers and reports about gas turbines, compressors, pumps, fluid mechanics and turbomachinery.

The cost for the "Handbook for Cogeneration and Combined Cycle Power Plants" is $112 for members and $140 for nonmembers.
