Updated Weibull analysis shows the effect of design options

The Weibull analysis is a tool that provides engineers with a means to quantify the effect that various design options will have on reliability and cost. The Weibull distribution analysis can be used to predict failure rates and to provide a description of the failure of parts and equipment.

Through ASME Professional Development, members can purchase the Weibull Analysis SuperSmith Package, which gives updates on Weibull engineering for 2001.

This updated package includes the 2001 Weibull Handbook, the standard handbook for Weibull engineering by Bob Abernethy; the Playtime booklet, which is a computer tutorial for SuperSmith Software; WinSmith Weibull, a new, enhanced Windows Weibull plotting software; and WinSmith Visual, a complete Windows general plotting software with functions, transforms and Crow/AMSAA reliability growth modeling.

The cost for this complete package (order No. ZXW194) is $800 for ASME members, and $1,000 for nonmembers. To order, contact Information Central at (800) 843-2763 or (973) 882-1167.

If you have any questions about this updated product, contact Kathy J. Warner at (212) 591-7411 (warnerk@asme.org).
