On the eve of its 125th Anniversary, another chapter in the ASME history book opened last month when nominations for ASME offices were announced.

Alma Martinez Fallon

For the first time, two women were nominated to serve simultaneous terms on the Board of Governors.

They are among the 16 nominees who were named during the Summer Annual Meeting and will appear on the ballot to be delivered to ASME's voting membership in the September issue of Mechanical Engineering magazine.

One of the women nominees for an at-large-seat on the BOG is Alma Martinez Fallon, who has been active in ASME since 1990. She currently serves on the Council of Public Affairs and the Committee on Staff. She is a manager of Planning and Manufacturing Engineering at Northrop Grumman Corp. Her term as president of the Society of Women Engineers ended last month.

Ozden O. Ochoa

The second female nominee to the BOG is Ozden O. Ochoa, P.E., whose term as vice president of Communications ended at SAM. A professor at Texas A&M University, Ochoa has been active in ASME since 1994, most recently on the Council on Engineering's Congress Committee, Conferences Committee and the Committee on Budget.

James W. Coaker

The third nominee for an at-large seat is James W. Coaker, P.E., the current senior vice president of the Council on Codes and Standards.

Active in ASME since 1989, Coaker also serves on several Codes and Standards committees: the A17 Elevators and Escalators Committee, the A17 New Technology Committee and the Qualification of Elevator Inspectors committee.
