Bioprocess seminars head for Ireland

For the first time in the 20-year history of the program, ASME is taking its successful Bioprocess Technology Seminars and Exhibits series to Europe. In another development this year, the program will feature sessions on two new areas — disposables technology, and bioprocess technology transfer.

The ASME Bioprocess Technology Seminars will take place June 4–6 at the Radisson-Dublin St. Helen's Hotel. The event will be held in conjunction with the Fifth Annual European meeting of the ASME Bioprocess Equipment International Standard, which is recognized in more than 30 countries.

Bioprocess Dublin will feature five seminars exploring advanced technologies that serve the needs of those involved in the bioprocessing, pharmaceutical, and healthcare industries. The event's corporate sponsor is Biogen Idec, a global biotech company with core capabilities, including drug discovery, research, development, biomanufacturing, and a global commercial infrastructure.

With more than 40 topics of interest to managers in the biotech, pharma, and healthcare industries, the Bioprocess Seminars provides a one-stop shop for getting information on the latest technologies and techniques to improve and optimize processes. Critical case studies and best practices will also be discussed during the sessions.

In addition to the new seminars, "Disposables Technology," and "Bioprocess Technology Transfer," the program will also include seminars on "Bioprocess Equipment Design," "Bioprocess Purification Process Development," and "Aseptic Fill and Finish for Biopharmaceuticals."

Instructors and speakers include experts from sponsor company Biogen Idec, as well as ABEC, Amgen, Bavarian Nordic, CRB Consulting, CUNO/3M, DME Alliance, Endress & Hauser, Fluor Corp., GE Healthcare, Getinge La Calhene France, Levtech, Stedim France, LifeTek Solutions, Wave Europe Pvt. Ltd., and others.

The event will also include an exhibits floor, comprising 25 companies showcasing the latest technologies and services available in the market. Exhibitors will include Aber Instruments, Advanced Couplings, Advantapure, Allegheny Bradford Corp., Amgen, Arkema Group, ASEPCO, Biogen Idec, BioProcess International, Broadley Technologies, Burkert Fluid Control Systems, Commissioning Agents Inc., Edison Welding Institute, Fluid Line Technology, Fujikin, Garlock EMIA, Getinge La Calhene, ITT Pure-Flo, J&J Scientific Products, LevTech Inc., PBM, Purity Systems Inc., Stedim Biosystems, Wave Europe Pvt.
