New Community of Practice will help you prepare for the P.E exam

The next Principles and Practice of Engineering (P.E.) examination will be offered on April 20. To help you prepare for the test, ASME has set up a new study group in its Community of Practice area of ASME.ORG.

ASME's Centers Sector created the new Community of Practice (COP), http://cop.asme.org/COP/PEExamstudygroup, based on the Board of Governors' interest in setting up collaborative learning communities.

The purpose is to provide a virtual support group for individuals who are studying to take the exam in mechanical engineering for their Professional Engineer license. In the new Community of Practice, engineers can discuss review material for the P.E. exam as well as talk about the mechanics of taking the exam.

Study groups can be key to your success when taking the P.E. exam.

"When I was studying for the P.E. exam, I had a friend who was also studying for the exam," said David Soukup, managing director, Centers. "We always got together a couple times each week to review material and to try to answer each other's questions. The ASME study group is an expansion of this. You have a virtual community of many members to assist you as you prepare for your licensing exam."

If you're interested in joining the P.E. exam COP, or just want to take a look, visit http://cop.asme.org/COP/PEExamstudygroup.
