Turbo Expo 2006 set for Spain this May

ASME Turbo Expo 2006, the primary technical conference on gas turbine technology, will be held May 8–11, 2006, at the Barcelona International Convention Center in Barcelona, Spain.

ASME Turbo Expo — Power for Land, Sea and Air will bring together engineers, research scientists, educators and other professionals involved in the design, operation, and maintenance of gas turbines.

Combining a papers program and equipment exhibit, the conference will cover engine design, materials, operations and maintenance, noise reduction in turbines, alternative fuels, combustion diagnostics, micro-turbines, and other topics of interest to the worldwide technical community.

Jóse Ignacio Ulizar, local liaison committee chair

ASME's International Gas Turbine Institute, the organizer of Turbo Expo, has named Jóse Antonio Malumbres and Jóse Ignacio Ulizar as chairmen serving key roles in coordinating and managing arrangements for the conference.

Malumbres, the executive conference chair, is director of engineering and technology at Industría de Turbo Propulsores, based in Madrid. Ulizar, who will serve as local liaison committee chair for Turbo Expo, is director of technology at the same firm.
