Abstracts due for Frontiers in Biomedicine Conference

Extended abstracts are now being accepted for the Frontiers in Biomedical Devices Conference, which will be held June 8–9 at the McDonnell Douglas Engineering Auditorium at the University of California, Irvine campus.

Medical device engineers, research scientists, government and academic personnel, as well as those involved in medical device research, discovery, clinical evaluation and delivery of medical devices, are encouraged to submit technical paper abstracts for the conference, which is sponsored by the ASME Nanotechnology Institute. The deadline for submitting the two-page extended abstracts is Feb. 27.

Abstracts are being considered for both oral presentations and a poster session at the conference. Reviewers will identify those abstracts that should be considered for the following four technical tracks: physiological and pathological environments for medical devices; monitoring and imaging technologies; device development; and regulatory and clinical issues.

The meeting's technical program will be chaired by Abe Lee of the University of California's Henry Samueli School of Engineering's biomedical engineering department, and co-chaired by Goran Matijasevic of the University of California's Henry Samueli School of Engineering's Integrated Nanosystems Research Facility.

The meeting also will include a combination reception/exhibition/poster session, to be held June 8, at the University Club.

Early-bird registration rates will be in effect until April 1. For details, visit www.asmeconferences.org/NanoBio06/ConfRegistration.cfm.
