ASME Code interpretations available online

Customized access to thousands of Codes and Standards products is now available online for ASME customers who want to supplement engineering resources for their staffs, or for companies wanting to offer greater service to their own clients.

ASME has contracted with several vendors to offer searchable online databases of interpretations of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. Some of the databases include archived Code interpretations going back to 1969.

Most vendors offer access to ASME Code interpretations to subscribers who purchase blocks of time on the database that can be shared by coworkers or other colleagues. Subscriptions to a database of code interpretations can be customized by content, number of minutes and user access. Pricing structures vary according to the level of service desired.

Some subscribers, like Hartford Steam Boiler, offer access to their licensed database of ASME code interpretations to supplement customer service to HSB clients.

More information about the new service is available in the ASME catalog, or by visiting the vendors directly at http://cspec.com/cspnt.htm;www.reedyeng.com/
