Bringing classroom benefits to the Internet, ASME, in an agreement with Fairfield University of Fairfield, Conn., will begin a new round of professional engineering prep classes this month.

The 10-week classes, developed by professors from the School of Engineering at Fairfield University, will begin Jan. 22 with an orientation and run on consecutive Tuesday mornings at 7 o'clock through March 26.

PE Online Live will be fully interactive, with interactive audio and sound, and will include a chat option for participants whose computers are not sound-enabled.

Students can interact with professors in real time, and classes will be available for playback on Tuesday evenings after each session.

ASME first offered PE Online Live test prep courses in August of last year. The latest offering has been updated to prepare users for the latest version of the P.E. exam.

Topics covered include Stress Analysis and Structural Deformation, Dynamic Systems and Kinematics, Machine Design, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems, and Power Plant Systems.

The cost of the live course is $645 for ASME members and $665 for nonmembers.
