San Diego courses on piping systems
layout, seismic design and more
Piping systems layout and seismic design and
retrofit of equipment and piping will be two of the topics to be examined
during ASME short courses given in San Diego during March.
ASME's Continuing Education Institute will offer five short courses
from March 4-8 at the Hilton Mission Valley in San Diego.
"The Layout of Piping Systems and Process Equipment,"
on March 4 and 5, is a new ASME Continuing Education Institute offering.
The class will acquaint you with all aspects of piping systems, including
layout, design procedures and the practices involved in the location
of equipment and layout of piping systems, as well as the procedures
involved in the layout and piping up of a typical process unit containing
pumps, exchangers, horizontal drums and vertical towers. Registration
is $715 for ASME members, $815 for nonmembers. This is a PVP Certificate
Program course.
From March 4-7, the course "Seismic Design and Retrofit of Equipment
and Piping" will help you understand in detail the code requirements
for the seismic design or retrofit of critical plant and facility systems
and equipment. The class will also enable you to evaluate plant piping
and equipment to ensure that those requirements are met, and provide
you with practical methods to resolve items that do not meet requirements.
Registration is $1,395 for members, $1,495 for nonmembers. This is a
PVP Certificate Program course.
Through case histories, the short course "The Bolted Joint"
will give you the basics to this important element of many products,
systems and structures. The class, on March 4 and 5, will teach you
the fundamental applications of bolted joints and inform you of the
latest developments in analysis, assembly practice and failure prevention.
Registration is $895 for members, $995 for nonmembers. This is a Design
Certificate Program course.
"Design of Bolted Flange Joints," on March 6, will give
you an understanding of the design and behavior of bolted flange joints
and provide you with information on recent developments from the Pressure
Vessel Research Council on gasketed flange joints. Registration is $475
for members, $575 for nonmembers. This is a Design Certificate Program
course.
"Fundamentals of Fastening Systems," on March 7 and 8,
concentrates on the practical aspects of fastener selection. This basic
introductory course will help you understand the proper application
of fasteners and show you the many choices available to the designer.
Registration is $665 for members, $765 for nonmembers. This is a Design
Certificate Program course.
You can receive continuing education units for each ASME short course
you complete. To find out more about ASME Continuing Education Institute
