ASME Career Expo offers options for Manufacturing Week attendees

Last year, thousands of engineering professionals — 56,000, to be exact — attended National Manufacturing Week.

All those engineers spent the week exchanging information about products, services and technologies. The only professional need not formally addressed was the engineering job market.

ASME International will fill that void this year by holding an Engineering Career Expo during National Manufacturing Week in March. The two-day event March 6-7 in Chicago will serve as a venue for engineering employers to meet qualified engineering candidates.

More than 100 employee-seeking companies are expected to attend. The recruiters and hiring managers representing those companies will be looking for full-time employees as well as summer interns.

The Career Expo will be open to everyone attending Manufacturing Week. Job seekers will be able to submit their resume online as soon as they register.

But even if you're not actively looking for a job and don't post your resume online, plan to bring some resumes with you. That way, you'll be prepared if an opportunity presents itself.

Companies that are interested in participating can contact John Beck at (212) 591-8463.
